United States Eventing Association

Since 1999, more than 50 horses and people have been inducted into the United States Eventing Association (USEA) Eventing Hall of Fame.

Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor awarded within the sport of eventing in the United States. Those invited to join the Hall of Fame have truly made a difference in the sport of eventing. Hall of Fame members have included past Association presidents, volunteers, riders, founding fathers, course designers, officials, organizers, horses, horse owners, and coaches.

Those chosen will be honored at a formal induction ceremony at the Hall of Fame Gala at the 2026 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention, held in Arlington, Virginia, from Dec. 11-13. The Hall of Fame Gala is held every four years at Convention.

The USEA’s Eventing Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be announced throughout the year as inductees are presented with their invitation in person at events meaningful to their contributions. Those chosen will be honored at a formal induction ceremony at the Hall of Fame Gala at the 2026 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention, held in Arlington, Virginia, from Dec. 11-13. The Hall of Fame Gala is held every four years at Convention.

The third invitation of 2026 was extended to the family of the late Jimmy Wofford on behalf of his legendary Irish Sport Horse Carawich.

Carawich (Scratchy x Polly's Vaughan), known in the barn as "Pop," was one of the most important horses of Wofford's career. Discovered through Wofford's mentor Lars Sederholm, he was purchased in 1977 and quickly proved to be a remarkable partner. Wofford and Carawich represented the United States at the 1978 World Championships, contributing to the team bronze medal. They went on to earn an individual silver medal at the 1980 Alternate Olympic Games in Fontainebleau and won the 1981 Kentucky Three-Day Event.

Celebrated for his intelligence and athleticism on cross-country, Carawich developed a reputation for anticipating questions on course and forming a unique partnership with his rider. Retired in 1984, he remained one of the defining horses of Wofford's career and an enduring figure in American eventing history.

Carawich is the sole equine addition to the U.S. Eventing Hall of Fame this year. Stay tuned throughout the year to find out the additional members of the USEA’s Eventing Hall of Fame Class of 2026!
