How to Register for a USEA Membership in the New Portal

As the United States Eventing Association, Inc. (USEA) prepares to move our Online Member Services Portal to a new, modern platform, our staff will provide "how to" instructions for members to utilize once the transition takes place on a weekly basis. This week, we are covering the membership registration and renewal process. Keep reading to get a glimpse of the new portal and view a step-by-step guide for registering one or multiple memberships with the USEA.
1. Once you are logged into the portal, you will scroll down on the homepage and click JOIN / RENEW.

2. The system will select the primary profile by default. To create a membership for the primary profile, click REGISTER [FIRST NAME].

3. If you need to add another registrant, click on REGISTER SOMEONE ELSE.

4. This will display a new blank section where you can enter all the required information for the new USEA member.
Please note:
This action will automatically create a new profile. End users can only create a profile during a registration process.

5. Next, whether you are registering yourself or someone else, if this is your first membership registration with the USEA, you will be required to fill in your address information.

6. If you've already registered a membership with the USEA, your address will be displayed automatically, but if you need to edit or change the address, then you must click on "[edit]" in the top right corner of the section.

7. Update the existing information or add a new address, then click SAVE & CONTINUE to proceed.

8. On the membership page, select the desired membership. At least one membership must be selected to continue the registration process.

9. Once a membership is selected, an Area Program membership can be added by scrolling down, clicking the "+" next to your desired Area, and checking the appropriate boxes for the programs you're interested in joining.

10. Once all desired memberships are selected, click NEXT to continue.

11. Before proceeding further, confirm your status as "Amateur" or Professional" in the drop-down menu provided. Once selected, click SAVE to continue.

12. Next, an area designation can be selected, or you can choose "No Area Designation." Once this is complete, click NEXT.

13. The next screen will provide a list of questions about your new membership. Fill in all the information requested, then click NEXT.

14. You can select whether you will receive the Eventing USA magazine. This field is mandatory but will not add any additional fees. In the "select an option" drop-down menu, choose Yes or No.

15. At this time, you can select from a list of add-on purchases. This is not a mandatory step, but if you would like to purchase an additional item, select the quantity and click ADD TO CART.
Note: There is a maximum of 2 items per person.

16. Once you've selected your desired add-ons, click NEXT.

17. On the next screen, review all your answers and options selected before validating. The information can be edited if needed using the "[edit]" buttons in the top right corner of each section.

18. To add another membership, click REGISTER ANOTHER MEMBER and repeat the same process for the second individual. Otherwise, click CONTINUE TO CART.

19. From here, you will be redirected to the next page, where you will be able to:
- View the list of existing horses under your account;
- ADD A NEW HORSE;
- CONTINUE to the cart to checkout.

20. If you need to register a horse, you must provide the horse’s name and assign at least one owner to complete the registration. Once added, you can update the rest of the horse's information later if needed. After completing the horse registration, you can proceed with the rest of the membership process. A full explanation of the horse registration process will be covered in the next installment of the "how to" series.

21. Next, you'll have the option to make donations to any of the organizations' programs and initiatives. This step is optional, and the donation phase can be skipped if preferred.

22. To proceed, once any donations have been entered, click PROCEED TO CART.

23. Before accessing the cart, you must sign the USEA waiver. This step is mandatory. You will need to check the option to agree to the waiver and provide an electronic signature in the designated field.

24. Click "I agree to the above" to finish the waiver.

25. You will then review all the information provided, as well as detailed pricing for items in your cart, before finalizing your registration. This includes verifying your personal details, selected memberships, add-on purchases, and any donations made.

26. If you need to edit any item, click "Edit Cart" to update or remove information. For example, you can adjust the number of items purchased from the shop or make a change to any of your membership selections.

27. To change the quantity of an add-on in the cart, click on the "+" or "-" buttons next to each item.

28. Next, you will be asked to provide your shipping address. If the address is the same as your billing address, you can check the box next to "Same as billing address."

29. If it is not the same as your billing address, you will be asked to input a new address.

30. Next, if you would like your membership to automatically renew each year once it reaches the renewal date, you can check the desired membership under the "Automatic Renewal for:" header. If you registered for an Area Program with this membership, it will also auto-renew next season.

31. Finally, you will be asked to fill in your credit card information. Then, click "SUMBIT & COMPLETE" to finalize your registration.

Congratulations, you've completed your membership registration or renewal for the 2025 USEA competition season!
